Obviously most people hit up the Golden Circle when they travel to Iceland. So it was tough to choose just one photo! But one of my favorite places prevails with Camille’s photo of Kerið volcanic crater. That blue water gets me every time!

The South coast definitely has some incredible scenery. But when I saw this aerial photo from @unseenimages I fell in love all over again! I love the way it captures the dramatic landscape with the glaciers and its braided rivers. Incredible!
The Westman Islands are often forgotten about travelers, but that should not be the case! This archipelago off the South coast is one big gem itself. Shejil’s photo shows the remains of the volcano eruption that happened in 1973. Although a lot of land and homes were destroyed, what remains is a huge red lava field that you can hike around in!
The beautiful highlands of Iceland have SO much to offer! Landmannalaugar is just one piece of the highlands, but a stunning one at that. The iconic painted mountains and unlimited hiking trails are a favorite among campers and backpackers. Thanks for sharing, Lian!
Sarah captured some amazing photos during her time in Iceland! I love how this photo depicts how massive Thorsmork is. Glaciers, rivers, and mountains – a never ending playground for serious hikers!

Oh the East – easily one of my favorite and far less traveled areas of Iceland. The roads that wind in and out of the fjords are breathtaking with gems that are just waiting to be discovered! Shelley saw SO much of the country, and I loved following along with her trip!

North Iceland takes wide open spaces to a whole new level. The landscape is so crazy, often times you feel like you’re driving on Mars! It’s also a region full of geothermal activity, with steam coming right out of the ground! Great capture, Lisa!
The Westfjords are the best fjords as they say! Although many people don’t’ take the time to drive into this area, it’s gaining popularity for sure. Rebecca nails it with my favorite waterfall of all time – Dynjandi! Thanks for sharing your beautiful photo 🙂

Snaefellsnes has been named “Mini Iceland” for a good reason. Cliffs, waterfalls, glaciers, and lava fields – this little peninsula has it all! I just love this photo of the coast near Arnarstapi – who’s ready to move in?!
Thanks again for everyone who shared their Iceland photos. Keep using the hashtag #icelandwithaview for a chance to have your photos featured on Fridays!
